SONATINE
for percussion and piano
Sonatine was composed in 1986 especially for young performers.
In this work different musical and technical qualities are explored.
The composition consists of 3 parts.
The first part ‘Allegro’, written for timpany and piano, is characterized by many measure changes.
The second part ‘Lento-Assai/Allegro’ was composed for vibraphone, xylophone and piano.
The first section has a lyrical, impressionistic character, the second section is light and sparkling.
The third part Allegro-Marcato’ was written for drums and piano. This part is strongly referring to the jazz- and pop music.
