SONATINE

for percussion and piano

Sonatine was composed in 1986 especially for young performers.

In this work different musical and technical qualities are explored.

The composition consists of 3 parts.

The first part ‘Allegro’, written for timpany and piano, is characterized by many measure changes.

The second part  ‘Lento-Assai/Allegro’ was composed for vibraphone, xylophone and piano.
The first section has a lyrical, impressionistic character, the second section is light and sparkling.

The third part Allegro-Marcato’ was written for drums and piano.  This part is strongly referring to the jazz- and pop music.
