for bassoon solo
RONDDOLEN was composed in 1987 for Francis Pollet in a period of great doubt.
The work gives the bassoon player and the public the chance to communicate and also utilizes many possibilities of the instrument.
In 2007 the composer rewrote this work for BASS CLARINET .
The material for this composition was drained out of the melodical processing of overtone series.
The work contains 3 parts.
The first part presents the leading motive, from a distance - 'Lontano' - which evolves gradually.
The second part starts with an 'Agitato', followed by a passage where the repeating of the low note 'D flat' represents a feeling of doubt.
The third part is a slow 'Cantilene', interrupted by melodical arabesques.
