for violin, cello and piano
This work was commissioned by Villarte vzw on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Simoens Trio in 2012.
Inspiration was a phrase from 'Die Stille' by the Bohemian-Austrian poet Rainer Maria RILKE: '...Der Abdruck meiner kleinsten Bewegung bleibt in der seidenen Stille sichtbar...'
It became a very intimate work in which the melody and the melodic development form the main basis. In this introspective and meditative composition the dynamics develop between the boundaries of the 'audible' (ppppp) and mezzo piano (mp), where at times fixed pitch and colored noise imperceptibly merge.
The work consists of 7 parts - each with their own energy - merging into one another.
For the performers this music requires an exceptional virtuosity.
