This work was commissioned by Ars Musica and the Koninklijke Muntschouwburg (La Monnaie Brussels) in 2002.
It is a work on a text by Wim Henderickx. He made a rhythmic and rousing text, with names and ideas from Greek mythology and sound simulations of percussion instruments.
Orpheus was created in La Monnaie in 2003 with a choir of 600 children.
With this work Wim Henderickx wants to stimulate the imagination and singing pleasure of young children.
