MOZART'S ENTFÜHRUNG ...?

for woodwinds, brass, percussion and double bass

This work was composed in 2008 for the Belgische Kamerfilharmonie - now Casco Phil - with Benjamin Haemhouts
as the music director of this orchestra.

It was inspired by Mozarts 'Die Entführung aus dem Serail'.

Etnic percussion got a prominent part in this work with the use of bendir, riq and derbuka.

The work arose from EEN TOTALE ENTFÜHRUNG, the production for music theatre which Wim Henderickx and Ramsey Nasr realised in 2006.
