FOUR BAGATELLES

for percussion and piano

FOUR BAGATELLES was composed in 1996, commissioned by the National Competition for Music and Word Art.

In this work each part is paramounting another instrumental group of the percussion.

The first part Allegro, was written for a percussion set-up and piano. There's a repeating and developing of short rhythmical fragments.

The second part Lento-Rubato was written for vibraphone and piano and has a melodical and improvisational character.

The third part Giocoso for marimba (or xylophone) and piano has a light and amusing atmosphere.

The fourth part Impetuoso for timpani and piano is a rhythmical part with different measure changes and a cadenza in the middle for the timpani.
