FIRE

for baritone, cello + live electronics

FIRE is a component of The Four Elements, 4 duos, namely AIR, WATER, FIRE and EARTH, accompanied by live electronics.

The elements of nature are put into sound in four movements for voice and soloist; an important part is played by the electronics.

The musical material was also based on solos from Wim Henderickx’s work for music theatre VOID (SUNYATA) (2007).

In the energetic FIRE, electronics represent the wood on which the duo of the mezzo and cello flare up as music.
