The original version of African Suite was written for VIOLIN AND PERCUSSION in 1992. In 2010 the composer wrote a version for VIOLONCELLO AND PERCUSSION and in 2007 a version for SAXOPHONE AND PERCUSSION.
In 2022 he made a version for piccolo and percussion, especially for a recording by the Solar Duo.
The work is a mixture of Western melodies and African rhythm.
By the use of a rhythmical ostinato pattern with changing measures and by placing erratic rhythmical accents in a steady metre, this work has a very inciting character.
