AKASHA

for trombone and electronics

Akasha is a part from the music theatre work VOID (Sunyata).

Wim Henderickx made a version for solo trombone and electronics in 2019, commissioned by Thomas Moore.

The timing of this work is proportional.

AKASHA stands for the natural element ether or the fifth element.

"Âkâsha is a Sanskrit word meaning expanse, but it also denotes the imprecise and untouchable principle of life - the astral and the celestial light united together - which two constitute the world soul, and make up the soul and spirit of man." Helena Blavatsky

This composition should be interpreted as a long meditation.
